Allow users to define where cfg and cfg_global go

Hi,

I just installed latest StC 1.15 and I think it is a great piece of software, very useful.
An idea, though: can you make it so it lets the user specify where the cfg and cfg_global folders are created? Perhaps through a config file? That would be a very nice touch-up.

Many thanks,
scrat

Sorry to go back to this one: now I have a new file "stc_path.cfg" in my home directory.
I don't want to abuse your good nature, but could you please search for this file in the directory where the JAR file/application is first? That way I can put this CFG file in the same folder as the JAR, and it will not show up in the home folder.

Many thanks, great job!

Hi

Stc search configuration files (and folders if not overridden by stc_path.cfg) next to stc jar by default. I think, it's a bug.

First things first:
Please start stc with -log parameter:
synctocloud_launcher.jar -log
or
synctocloud_1.16_win_x86.jar -log

Then close the app, and email the generated synctocloud0.log, for debugging (email address can be found here: http://www.synctocloud.net/?page_id=53). Thank you!

Thanks for looking into this.
I ran STC with logging enabled, and I pasted the log here (it will be valid for a month):

http://pastebin.mozilla.org/2576119

Please let me know if you need more info for debugging.

I investigate this issue on linux, and found a bug in working dir detection algorithm (affect linux users only). The fix released today, tested on ubuntu 12.10. Please check stc version 1.17.

I can confirm this is fixed now. I moved my stc_path.cfg file into the same folder where the JAR file is located and after a "Reread Job Directory" it picked it up.

This is nice since I can put everything in a hidden folder (.synctocloud) in my home folder, keeping home folder clean.

Thank you for the quick response and fix!
